Established in 1834, our parish had Father Martin Kundig as its pioneering pastor. The original St. Mary's church edifice graced our community in 1841, only to be succeeded by a grand replacement in 1884, standing proud in the very same location.
Throughout our rich history, various esteemed orders have overseen our parish. From the Redemptorists to the Franciscans, and now, since 1893, the devoted Holy Ghost Fathers or Spiritans. The Spiritan Fathers remain unwavering in their commitment, serving as advocates, supporters, and defenders of those in need.
Before embracing the affectionate title of "Old", St. Mary's was renowned as the "Church of the Grottos." Delight in the three spiritual sanctuaries within: the Gethsemane Grotto, which portrays Christ's profound moments in the Garden of Olives; the Baptismal Grotto, bringing to life Christ's Baptism in the Jordan River by John the Baptist, accentuated with flowing water; and the Lourdes Grotto, an exquisite replica of the famed French shrine.
Join the diverse community of business professionals, government and court employees, and visitors from afar for our daily Mass at 12:15. Our doors remain open every day from Monday to Sunday up until 2 pm.
