"St. Aloysius Gonzaga, model and patron of Christian youth, intercede in behalf of our youth.
May they find in their families a joyful faith, and encouragement to respond to a Church vocation."

Our Mission

Old St. Mary’s Church is a font of inspiration to all who walk through Her doors; the beauty and Holiness of this sacred place has led many to a Church vocation. With her arms extended and palms wide-open, our Blessed Mother leads us to her Son. In a kind, gentle voice, she says: “Do whatever He tells you”  -- and there is no greater joy than to do the will of God!

One of the greatest services we can render to Catholics who will come after us is to do all we can so that they will have the priests they need. The more priests and consecrated persons there are at the service of the Church, the more we will be able to serve and bring the light of the Gospels to new generations.

Pope John Paul II tells us that "Parents are the first teachers of the faith". We first learn about God, fom them; they prepare us to take His word into the world. Families, being the domestic Church, plant the seeds of faith: they nourish it and build a positive regard for vocations.

As we pray for an increase in Church vocations, we should also be praying for the protection of our priests. Nothing pleases the devil more than taking possession of consecrated souls! He tries to corrupt them in order to lull to sleep the souls of laypeople, leading them to final impenitence. The devil’s approach is a crafty one: he uses those closest to God to steal souls (the story of the fallen angels is an example of how the devil builds his army).

Prayer to know one's Vocation:

O Great Saint Joseph, you were completely obedient to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Obtain for me the grace to know the state of life that God in his providence has chosen for me. Since my happiness on earth, and perhaps even my final happiness in heaven, depends on this choice, let me not be deceived in making it.

Obtain for me the light to know God's Will, to carry it out faithfully, and to choose the vocation which will lead me to a happy eternity.

Brief prayer for our priests:

ST. JOSEPH, patron of the Church, protect our priests from danger and harm.

ST. JOHN VIANEY, patron of parish priest’s, may they be a shining model of holiness.

MARY, mother of priests, keep them under the mantle of your love.
                       -- Amen.

No fancy gimmick or attention-grabbing idea will get young men to listen to God. However, prayer and encouragement is needed to produce an abundant harvest

First Friday of the month is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This devotion begins prior to the 12:15 Liturgy, at which time the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available.

A Plenary Indulgence is granted to the faithful who consecutively attend 9 First Fridays, observing the required conditions. Immediately   after the Mass we recite the Rosary.
